Mask On

This is my angsty mask face. It’s been a long week. I got my teeth whitened (via Groupon, dumb I know) and they burned my younger and mouth so badly. The only plus side is that I got a face mask from the lady who whitened my teeth/assaulted my mouth. I have been trying to find some for a while but amazon is sold out and hardware stores are closed cause of Covid. I’ve been using for quite a few days now and disinfecting it but now that too seems gross. The next step is making my own out of paper towels. My best friend showed me a video of her uncle making a face mask out of nothing but string, a hole punch and stapler. So if I can find string and a stapler that will be my solution.
On the brighter side I’ve been a live in nanny in NJ for the past three days and tomorrow I get to go home!!! I can’t wait to be quarantined in my own space. Stay safe y’all!

An article for the broke skincare enthusiasts

Hi all! I found this article on the insta stories of @esteelaundry. @esteelaundry is one of my favorite instagram accounts because they spill the tea on the beauty industry. They also have good reviews and tell you which beauty companies not to support because of their problematic owners and which products don’t live up to the hype. They had me throwing out my banana bright eye cream because a lot of people had been reporting serious eye swelling problems and they included photos send it by their followers.

I love this article because it gives so many recommendations for skin care that I can afford. I’m really excited to check some of these out and thought I’d share.

The $20 Luxury Face Cream

feeling healthy + spending all my money on a sandwich

I always go to the same coffee shop for my lunch break and since it’s the west village and a hipster coffee shop, of course, it’s gonna be a ten dollar sandwich.  It’s called something that I can’t pronounce and has avocados in it but its delicious and not a cheeseburger so I’m proud/ashamed that this has become a habit.  To justify this I’m making it a blog post ok.  Here look at it. IMG_1741 (1) Look, how pretty.

I started working out lol

Lately I’ve been really suffering from anxiety and I’ve been trying to calm myself down and reassure myself that I’m ok, doing ok and not a complete failure.  The things I’ve found that help are listening to beauty youtube videos at work (I love Tati and Carli) and drinking lots of tea and my favorite smoothie from my favorite restaurant.  I don’t know why it’s back but I’ve been feeling like attacks of panic lately and I have a really busy schedule this month (that’s probably why lol) but I don’t have time for stuff like this so I have to take it in stride.  What are the things that help you destress?  I have a lot of things that do help (I even have whole lists in docs lol of the little things that make me happy in life) but I am having lots of trouble finding the time do to them.  Also I’ve started going to the gym and everyone says (scientists included) that going to the gym helps with insomnia, can help with mental health issues, etc. etc. but for me rn it just a lot of physical pain.  I’ve literally been limping and going up the stair at the subway is so painful.  And as soon as I get out of the gym I’m just so so hungry (way more than usual). (Also yesterday I caved and had a burger and it was honestly everything in that moment and I have absolutely NO regrets about that, it was mouth watering).  To be fair I literally have only worked out two days but I’m in so much pain and I haven’t seen any of the positives yet.  I’m gonna keep it up though, and I know I’m such a baby for complaining.  If you’re a gym person, when you first started working out how long did it take for you to stop being in pain? and how long did it take you to see results or positive side effects?
